Renner's Ex-Wife Seeking Child Custody and Support

Jeremy Renner’s soon-to-be ex-wife, Sonni Pacheco is requesting primary child custody, in addition to child support and for her lawyers’ fees to be paid by her estranged husband.

Divorce Filing and Child Custody

Renner, 44, and Pacheco, 26, have been married for less than two years. Pacheco, a model and actress, filed for divorce in early December 2014, citing irreconcilable differences. She’s also claiming the prenuptial agreement should be rendered void because it was based on “fraud.”

She is asking for primary physical custody but joint legal custody over their daughter, Ava Berlin. She is 22 months old. Physical custody means that Ava Berlin will live with Pacheco full time. Joint legal custody means that Renner will be able to have a say in legal matters, such as health care and education.

Unsafe Home for Child

Pacheco has made claims that Renner’s house is unsafe. The court documents allege that the household contains hazards such as an unfenced pool are and koi pond. The documents also allege that Renner’s house contains a guns and weapons collection. Pacheco is requesting that Renner baby-proof his L.A. residence.

In the divorce papers, Pacheo alleges, “I have been the parent that cares for Ava on a daily basis. [Renner] rarely spent one-on-one time with Ava and when he did it’s my recollection it was as a result of my insistence that he do so.”

Child Support

Pacheco is also seeking child support. She is currently unemployed with no income. She is claiming that in 2014 Renner earned $3.4 million and that the actor has $13 million in assets. She is also requesting $75,000 to cover attorneys’ fees and $25,000 for additional legal expenses.

Pacheco is claiming that Renner withheld and is currently withholding her passport. “I am seeking an order from the Court requiring [Renner] to return my social security card and birth certificate, which were maintained in the safe at [his] residence, and my passport and drivers license which were in my wallet.”
